The primary purpose of the Mechanical Supervisor is to safely execute planned and corrective maintenance and site equipment to maintain safe operations, reliability and reduce downtime.
You will be required to diagnose Mechanical faults / downtime on a range of equipment associated with production and site services, carry out improvements and project work (working with the Project engineer), and act as a strong business partner for the local management team, with a focus on leadership and quality operations.
There is a reporting link between the department and management teams, so consent communication is followed throughout the site via MX system and shift report updates.
Job Responsibilities

Responsible for supervision of all mechanical team – shift techs, Day shift Tech, Apprentices and contractors
Ensure that all work is carried out in line with contract requirements and guidelines, including compliance with relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice.
All work is completed to the highest standard and in compliance with current regulations and standards.
Complete site H&S checks to ensure that all paperwork is being filed in compliance with company procedures
Lead the maintenance teams in the execution of preventative maintenance 100% (unless agreed by management) completion rate) corrective maintenance and periodic inspections on all machines and equipment, accessories (including annual maintenance shuts), and other equipment as may be agreed upon by the team. Four-day plan for mech team in advance. (reviewed daily) (KIP)
Planned Shut /Boil Outs and Dump wash must be planned for all outstanding maintenance work- Documented
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential/Required
Ø Minimum of 5 years of experience in the paper industry or similar process industry
Ø Minimum academic qualification: HNC or HND in engineering
Ø Relevant mechanical trade qualification
Ø Extensive knowledge & experience of mechanical and components and maintenance/repair/troubleshooting experience relative to position.
Ø Be capable of finding solutions and being resourceful in challenging situations.
Ø Capable leader with the ability to motivate teams with a view to providing successful, on-time delivery and excellent service with a focus on safety and quality.
Ø Excellent communication & IT skills to enable effective liaison with clients, vendors and other staff members, including detailed daily/project report writing.
Ø Understand and be able to comply with all HSEQ processes.
Ø Ability to undertake comprehensive pre/post job briefs/toolbox talks.
Day shift hours - 7.30 - 4 Mon - Friday (slight early finish on Friday)
