An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engagement Officer within the General Education department at Cardiff and Vale College. This role will be based in the City Centre Campus.
Responsibilities Include:
* Develop person centred intervention strategies to aid retention across their department/s and specific activities for those learners identified as at-risk.
* Supporting teaching and management teams by chasing poor attendance. This may include phone calls, online and face-to-face meetings, and where appropriate, at home visits where contact is proving difficult.
* Maintaining and monitoring a caseload of learners with poor levels of engagement and/or at risk of drop out. Providing feedback and report on progress as requested by departmental management team/s.
* Planning and facilitating activities designed to not only re-engage and motivate learners, but also address identified needs.
* Linking with internal College support systems to ensure individuals have access to all support available.
* Linking with external support agencies where appropriate in order to provide a wraparound approach to support.
* Welsh language skills are not essential but would be desirable for this role.
Applications are to be made using the Cardiff and Vale College application form only. The college welcomes applications in Welsh. Applications submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application in English.
