Equans is looking for a Plumber / Heating Engineer to join our team at Woodland View Hospital, Irvine on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a banding of £30, - £32, per annum dependent upon skills and experience. In addition you will receive an excellent benefits package.
What will you deliver?
1. Undertake planned and reactive mechanical maintenance tasks, carryout small work and variation requests, and any other tasks deemed reasonable by the Senior Management team. This will include but is not limited to; ahu maintenance, water systems maintenance, medical gas maintenance, pressure systems maintenance, legionella control measures and some minor electrical works as may be required.
2. Actively participate in the operation, undertaking and control of all planned maintenance schemes in support of the business and contract needs.
3. Respond to any unplanned events in a timely fashion.
4. Work overtime to carry out additional works installations, improvements, planned maintenance and emergency repairs as required.
5. Liaise with Facilities Team Leaders regarding plant or equipment failures and to arrange for the supply of goods and/or services as necessary.
6. Undertake training where necessary to learn new skills and techniques as part of the business needs and personal development.
7. Maintain tools and workshops, storage and equipment areas in a clean and tidy manner.
8. Take part in an on call rota to ensure 24/7 cover is maintained.
9. Be prepared to travel to other sites as the Business requires on an ad-hoc basis.

Who are we looking for?
21. Must have successfully completed a recognised mechanical apprenticeship, and have a proven track record in a similar role carrying out mechanical maintenance duties. Hospital maintenance experience is desirable but not essential.
22. Be competent to undertake/assist work on the type of building service systems and equipment for which the appointment is sought.
23. Be familiar with the type of systems and equipment on which work is required to be undertaken.
24. Possess technical knowledge and sufficient experience to avoid any danger that may be presented by the work to be undertaken.
25. Have an adequate knowledge of and within the preceding three years have received training in first aid (including CPR Training). If not held, training will be given.
26. Desirable but not essential to have some knowledge of all the relevant Scottish Health Technical Memoranda (SHTM) and to work within Permit to Work procedures as appropriate (SHTM 01 - 08, BSRIA, L8, pressure systems Regulations, etc).
27. This role includes a DBS Basic check therefore ability to pass is essential.
