Why work at Healthcare Innovation Consortium (HIC)?
If you thrive in an environment where your work makes a tangible impact, this role is for you! HIC is a leading digital healthcare consultancy dedicated to transforming health and social care through technology. Whether you come from a healthcare background or not, we value skills, personality, and a willingness to learn. We believe the right person can grow into the role, and industry knowledge can be gained on the job.
At HIC, we pride ourselves on our close-knit, supportive team. Innovation is at the heart of what we do, and we encourage fresh ideas and new ways of working. Here, there’s no such thing as a bad idea. As part of a small but growing team, you’ll have the autonomy to take ownership of projects, experiment with new concepts, and help shape the future of our community and events strategy. You’ll be in a place where your voice will be heard, and your contributions will truly make a difference.
The Role:
We are looking for a Community and Events Coordinator to support the planning and delivery of community engagement activities and events at HIC. Reporting to the Marketing and Partnerships Manager, this role is ideal for someone with 2-3 years of experience in community management, event planning, or marketing who is eager to take on more responsibility in a supportive and fast-growing environment.
A key focus of the role will be supporting the development of the EPR (Electronic Patient Record) Network — a collaborative forum where healthcare professionals from both industry and the public sector connect, share insights, and drive digital healthcare innovation.
The network currently has 11 industry members (and growing), and you’ll play an active role in strengthening relationships with existing members, attracting new ones, and assisting with event delivery, both virtual and in-person.
In addition to supporting the EPR Network, you will help coordinate the EPR Summit — our annual flagship event hosted in collaboration with Convenzis Group — as well as other HIC-led events that promote our consultancy services, ensuring they align with our strategic goals and contribute to business growth.
We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable working across a variety of tasks and adapting to shifting priorities, as no two days are quite the same at HIC. While you’ll have the chance to take ownership of certain tasks, you’ll also have guidance and support from the team to develop your skills and confidence in the role.
Key responsibilities include:
* Community Engagement: Help foster a strong and engaged network by managing member interactions, responding to queries, and cultivating a sense of community.
* Event Coordination: Support the planning and delivery of the EPR Summit, EPR Network events, and other HIC-led events (both virtual and in-person), ensuring smooth execution and alignment with community and business objectives.
* Marketing and Communications: Assist in creating content, newsletters, and social media updates to promote events and keep members informed.
* Membership Growth and Retention: Support efforts to attract new members while ensuring existing members stay engaged.
* Operational Support: Help with administrative tasks, tracking engagement metrics, and contribute to the overall success of community initiatives and events.
About You
* 2-3 years’ experience in community engagement, event planning, or marketing.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in using Microsoft 365, including Word, and organisational tools such as Monday.com.
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
* Must be based in the UK and able to travel to in-person events when required.
* Experience working in healthcare, public sector, digital health, or professional networks.
* Familiarity with CRM and email marketing platforms.
* Experience using design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
* Understanding of event technology (e.g., virtual event platforms, webinar tools).
* Knowledge of Electronic Patient Records (EPR) would be highly beneficial, but not essential.
