In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our data centre's hardware, ensuring high availability, and supporting day-to-day operations. From installing, configuring, and troubleshooting servers to monitoring power, cooling, and security systems, you'll be at the heart of ensuring our data centre runs like a well-oiled machine. Your technical expertise, attention to detail, and ability to respond swiftly to challenges will keep our mission-critical systems online. Main duties of the job Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of datacentre facilities across NCA sites. This includes supporting the installation of servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and other datacentre components, ensuring adherence to NHS standards and industry best practices. Furthermore, you will be tasked with providing technical support to diagnose and resolve datacentre issues and incidents efficiently. Leveraging your problem-solving skills and knowledge of datacentre technologies, you will assist in identifying root causes and implementing solutions to minimise downtime and disruptions to healthcare services, ensuring optimal system performance. In addition to providing support, you will assist in implementing basic security measures to protect datacentre environments and sensitive data. This may involve assisting in the implementation of access controls, monitoring systems, and adherence to security policies to mitigate cybersecurity risks within the datacentre and its systems.
