Role SummaryMembership and Supporter Events CoordinatorAdvancementFull-timeFixed term (6 months with the possibility of extension)£30,898 per annum, plus 5% responsibility allowance -Application deadline: 12pm (midday) on Monday 3 February 2025About the role:The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for supporting the Membership and Supporter events programme, under the guidance of the Membership and Supporter Events Manager. The Membership events programme should engage Members with the Museum and its work and increase retention rates by acting as a valued benefit.Key areas of responsibility:Work with the Membership and Supporter Events Manager to design an appropriate annual event schedule, considering how best to engage Members during the year and alignment with the Museum’s programme of exhibitionsEnsure events are planned and delivered to a set budgetWork with the wider Engagement team to agree how events will be communicated to Members, including providing copyLiaise with speakers and contractors regarding promotional literature and publicity photographyEvent planning including preparing event briefs and risk assessments as appropriate Coordinating, developing, delivering and evaluating each eventAbout you:Educated to GCSE level or equivalent; English and Maths essentialPrevious experience coordinating both large and small events that ideally would include experience of following relevant legislation and health and safety guidanceHighly organised and creative, with excellent planning skills and strong understanding of event design, development, delivery and reviewConfident user of software packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Flexible, proactive and a good team player About the British Museum: Founded in 1753, the British Museum’s remarkable collection spans over two million years of human history and culture.
