Opportunity Overview: A fantastic opportunity has arisen to temporarily join my client as a Projects Business Analyst. My client is a leading global financial services firm providing a wide range of investment banking, securities, investment management, and wealth management services. The Firm's employees serve clients worldwide including corporations, governments, and individuals from more than 1,200 offices in 43 countries.
Role Objective: The Projects team is responsible for managing a considerable percentage of Finance’s technology spend, helping to deliver across a portfolio of projects including Regulatory Capital, Leverage and Reporting, Financial Accounting, and General Ledger renovation. The team is also front and centre of the technology architecture discussions. The team supports EU, Global, and local regulatory driven initiatives across Financial and Capital Reporting including Basel 3, Capital Calculators, FED, SEC, PRA & EBA reporting initiatives as well as FinRep, Bank Levy, and Recovery & Resolution Reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business analysis in support of the Capital/Financial Regulatory Reporting project stream in an Agile environment.
2. Liaison with Clients and IT colleagues to identify new requirements, create user stories and track prioritization and remediation.
3. Develop collaborative relationships with a squad working across different departments and regions.
4. Lead and/or contribute to key project work streams relating to the buildout of evolving regulatory rules.
5. Take part in Squad/Fleet Agile ceremonies providing updates and reporting for Clients and Senior Management.
6. Communicate and escalate to line management as appropriate.
Requirements:
1. Business analysis background gained in the Financial Services Industry.
2. Agile experience within a squad/Fleet.
3. Knowledge of traditional Project Management approaches.
4. Experience of Regulatory Reporting projects such as Finrep/CoRep would be preferred but experience within the wider Financial Regulatory space would be considered.
5. Knowledge of Investment Banking business and related products.
6. Excellent organisational skills with an ability to manage to tight deadlines whilst balancing multiple priorities.
7. Strong analytical, organisational and documentation skills with an ability to understand processes and key controls.
8. Experienced in implementing change effectively to improve existing processes.
9. Experience of data modelling and investigation with the ability to identify issues, develop and implement practical solutions.
10. Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and ability to liaise with colleagues/clients of all levels.
11. Highly numerate with an attention to detail and accuracy.
12. Self-motivated.
13. Experience of Microsoft Office and project management tools such as Excel, Project, and Vision.
14. Experience of investigating, summarising and presenting results in a meaningful format to clients and Senior Management.
