The role
As a Supply Chain Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be part of an experienced team who support the UK Armed forces with spares, directly affecting material and vehicle availability and reliability. You will positively affect material availability in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) and authority stores systems.
Day-to-day, you’ll provide challenging and focused support to procurement review groups (both internal and external), providing technical and obsolescence expertise to identify risks and opportunities to support the proposed contracting strategy. You’ll triage these risks and opportunities and escalate as appropriate to the Part Strategy Lead Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and undertake lead activities to optimise pre-contract opportunities including creation and/or amendment of specifications and identification of suitable and specific technical questions.
* Support supplier management and non-conformance.
* Be responsible for technical compliance of all material put forward for procurement under the add to contract process.
* Ensure drawings required for competition are requested and fit for use adding supplementary information as required.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Donnington.
Essential Experience:
* Advanced PC user (MS Office, MS Outlook, SharePoint, ERP system).
* Experience of working with data and reporting.
* Experience of making sound, risk-based decisions based on information available.
* Ability to react to changing demands.
Qualifications:
* Educated to Level 3 in National Qualification Framework (NQF) as a minimum (Intermediate apprenticeship, Level 3 NVQ) or equivalent workplace experience.
