Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 1-year fixed term Band 3 position at Great Ormond Street Hospital. The successful candidate will be supported by a large department of dietitians, dietetic Assistants, diet service technicians and supervisors. This position is responsible for accurately preparing milk feeds in the Special Feeds Unit and therapeutic meals in the Diet Kitchen for children admitted to hospital. The post will require working 13 hours alternate weekends. ( Saturday and Sunday) We require a dedicated and motivated individual with excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and approachable disposition. All necessary training is provided.

Main duties of the job
1. To undertake general administrative duties such: secure chats on Epic, phone enquiries regarding feeds from hospital staff, hygiene monitoring paperwork and photocopying,
2. To deal with confidential and sensitive information relating to patients and duties.
3. Be responsible for checking production stock delivery and report immediately if any deliveries are incorrect
4. Checking patient information and feed type, ensuring the all the component parts as per the feed recipe are available prior to the preparation of the feed or diet.
5. To read the recipe and inform Dietitians of any errors
6. To read each individual feed recipe on the SFU / DK Computer system and prepare as per the dietetic instructions
7. Monitoring and checking all equipment for performance and breakage keeping clean fridges, freezers, pasteurisers, weighing scales
8. Report any broken specialist equipment such as pasteurisers and bottle washers to HoP and DSM
9. Identify and report any broken facilities such as lock, floor and cupboards to service desks
10. To help in the organisation and receipt of stock items, consumables etc. ensuring where appropriate that items and placed at the correct storage temperature
