STEP Pharmacists assist in the delivery of our comprehensive pharmacy service and provide operational support to the department as agreed in the rotational programme.
STEP Pharmacists undertake the Postgraduate Diploma in General Practice Pharmacy at University College London (UCL) or equivalent Post Registration Foundation Pharmacist Development Programme, in order to meet the requirements of the NHS to be “fit for practice” and provide consistently high quality patient care. You will work towards completion of The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) Foundation Pharmacy Framework and meet all of our professional standards as set out by the GPhC.

Main duties of the job
A structured post-foundation workplace-based training programme in a hospital setting, fully integrated with a post-graduate pharmacy practice qualification.
Due to promotions and evolution in our services, we are looking for post-foundation pharmacists to join our team of STEP Pharmacists based at our PRUH site.
Successful candidates will be qualified pharmacists and registered with the GPhC. We are looking for pharmacists capable of adapting quickly to the demands of our rotational clinical commitments, 7-day working, non-residency on-call service and other operational duties including patient services and aseptics.
STEP pharmacists are currently enrolled onto the UCL JPB PG Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice and can rotate to other acute trusts in South East London including Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. The programme has been successfully running for over twenty years.
