Associate Director - Fleet and Maintenance
Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an Associate Director of Fleet and Maintenance for our Procurement team.
This individual will be responsible for developing and executing a fleet acquisition strategy that aligns with company goals and budgetary constraints. They will assess departmental fleet needs, manage supplier relationships, and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms and high-quality standards. Collaborating with internal teams like finance, operations, and logistics, they will ensure fleet procurement meets operational needs. This role also requires leadership, as they will guide and develop a team, using data and technology to optimize fleet performance and enhance overall cost efficiency.
This position reports to the National Procurement Director. This role is hybrid and is based in Somerville, MA.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute a strategic procurement plan that aligns with the company’s operational goals and budgetary constraints
* Identify and assess fleet needs across departments and develop specifications for fleet acquisitions, ensuring alignment with company requirements
* Supplier and Vendor Management
o Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts to secure favorable pricing, terms, and quality standards
o Manage vendor performance through KPIs, ensuring timely delivery, fleet quality, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs)
* Budgeting and Cost Optimization
o Develop and manage the annual fleet procurement budget, with a focus on cost savings and efficiency improvements
o Analyze and report on cost-per-mile, total cost of ownership, and other metrics to continuously optimize fleet expenses
* Fleet Compliance and Risk Management
o Ensure fleet procurement activities comply with relevant regulatory and safety standards, including environmental and emissions regulations
o Work with legal and compliance teams to mitigate risks and adhere to regulatory requirements for fleet procurement and leasing
* Collaboration with Internal Teams
o Partner with finance, operations, and logistics departments to forecast fleet demand and ensure fleet procurement aligns with operational needs
o Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure purchased fleet vehicles and equipment meet maintenance and lifecycle management goals
* Technology and Data Management
o Utilize fleet management software and procurement tools to monitor and manage fleet acquisition and expenses
o Analyze data to identify trends, enhance fleet utilization, and improve overall cost efficiency
* Team Leadership and Development
o Lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement and fleet management professionals
o Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the fleet procurement department, promoting best practices and professional growth
Basic Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
* Minimum 8–10+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or fleet management, with at least 3–5+ years in a leadership role
* Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship skills
* Knowledge of fleet management software and procurement systems
* Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost analysis, and total cost of ownership calculations
* Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to fleet procurement and environmental standards
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
* Strategic thinking and ability to align procurement strategies with business goals
* Ability to make data-driven decisions and leverage analytics to enhance fleet operations
* Problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset
* Proficiency in contract negotiation and supplier management
* Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
* Must have a reliable form of transportation
Preferred Requirements:
* MBA or other related graduate-level degree
* CPSM or CFM certification
* Prior experience with fleet management software preferred
