Job summary NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) are excited to be seeking an innovative leader to join our organisation as a Chief Nurse Strategy, Workforce & Professional Standards. You will be joining NHSBT to support the delivery of the strategic goals for the organisation, following the first Chief Nursing Officer appointment to the Board in 2023, and subsequent development of the nursing directorate. This critical role will lead the corporate delivery of clinical governance, safeguarding, infection control, professional nursing standards via the directorate chief nurses and key senior leaders. Main duties of the job Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), the Chief Nurse Strategy, Workforce and Professional Standards will be responsible for the development and delivery of NHSBTs ambitions and strategy for clinical governance and nursing workforce. You will be responsible for the development and delivery of clinical and professional standards and the development of leadership and workforce capacity within nursing in line with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, resource controls and constraints contributing to delivering the strategy for NHSBT. Assisting the CNO to implement the strategic direction for nursing by developing the nursing workforce, setting high standards, fostering leadership, exploring innovative approaches, and improving quality, safety, and patient service. You will have overall responsibility for ensuring consistently high and safe nursing care, leading strategy development, policy implementation, and outcome measurement for quality and safety.
