Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Community
The role of Clinical Nurse Specialist will provide excellent holistic care to patients and their families, offering direct support, clinical advice, and advocacy to patients and carers dealing with complex, distressing, and unpredictable life-limiting illnesses. You will manage a clinical caseload of community-based patients with specialist palliative needs, collaborating with multi-professional teams within the hospice and across multiple settings to assess patient needs, implement care plans, and evaluate outcomes in partnership with GPs and District Nurses. You will lead with enthusiasm, support, and care, participating in research and audits to enhance your clinical practice.

We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic team at Saint Catherines Hospice. As a vital member of our community-focused palliative care team, you'll have the opportunity to provide exceptional care and support to patients and families in need.
You will:
* Have post-registration experience at Band 5 or above in palliative care, cancer, or other related specialties.
* Demonstrate the ability, experience, and resilience to deal with complex and difficult situations.
* Be calm and diplomatic while remaining an advocate for patients.
* Have experience in negotiating, supporting, and influencing change.
* Be committed to developing your own skills and knowledge.
* Undertake a competency-based programme with the support of our extensive multi-disciplinary and education team to enable you to develop and expand your skills and experience as a palliative care CNS.
* Be flexible to the needs of the service with the ability to work over 7 days as required.

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
* Registered General Nurse
* Post-basic qualification in palliative care or related specialty or willingness to work towards
* Willingness to undertake non-medical prescribing qualification
* Recognised teaching/training qualification
* Advanced Communication skills training
* Experience of audit or research
