An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Production Manager to join BWC Profiles.
The Deputy Production Manager is responsible for assisting the Production Manager in the day-to-day management and development of all manufacturing related activities across the 4 departments (Injection Moulding, Plastic Extrusion, Fabrication, and Paint shop). In particular, there will be a strong emphasis on driving Health and Safety, Quality, Profitability, Training of staff, machine maintenance, and Continuous Improvement. This will include people management, project management, and reporting requirements.
Main Tasks of the Role:
* Deputise for the Production Manager
* Assist in ensuring all Health and Safety regulations are met.
* Assist with compliance with ISO9001:2015 accreditation and assist with the production of specific quality procedures
* Ensure Standard Operating Plans are in place and adhered to
* Assist in the construction, development, and completion of the Preventative Maintenance Programs
* Ensure schedule compliance across the departments
* Lead by example, ensuring a safe and efficient workplace is maintained always
* Drive performance of team members, giving direction and feedback to aid good performance.
* Motivate the team to create a high-performance culture where improvement suggestions are embraced.
* Through the utilisation of lean manufacturing techniques, strive to exceed the Company targets in productivity, efficiency, and quality on a continuous basis.
* Support with the resolution of Customer complaints. Identify and eliminate root cause using robust countermeasures. Sustain the corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential
* Lean manufacturing methodologies.
* Preferred HND or Management Degree or 3 years’ experience of Management position within a similar industry
* Ability to sustain and develop team working and team-based problem solving
* Analytical and problem-solving skills
* Adaptable to change and varying situations
* Ability to show resilience and a flexible approach
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong people and performance management skills
* Computer skills including ERP systems, spreadsheet and word-processing programs, and e-mail at a high level of proficiency
* Organisation and efficiency skills.
Working Hours & Salary:
Our team operates 24/5 from Monday to Friday. You will need to cover 40 hours per week, flexibly with the agreement of the Production Manager, ensuring that you spend some time with the day shift and some with the night shift as required.
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 depending on experience
