We're a commercial motor insurer on a mission to save people time and money. From scooter delivery riders to private hire taxi drivers, our customers are our driving force. We're making insurance fairer and more human for every one of them.
When we started back in 2016, we knew that traditional insurance held businesses back. It was too complicated, too expensive and too time consuming. So we set out to change things, building insurance solutions that empower professional drivers throughout the UK and Europe.

Purpose of the Role
As a Delivery Manager at Zego, you will be an individual contributor and you will play a crucial role in driving the successful execution of high-quality projects within Engineering, that align with the company's strategic goals. Your leadership in managing cross-functional projects, optimising resources, and ensuring timely delivery directly contributes to Zego's growth and competitive edge. You will maintain a strong working relationship with Product Managers and Tech Leads, providing essential support to facilitate their roles effectively, manage stakeholder expectations, and mitigate risks. You will ensure that each project not only meets its objectives but also delivers significant value, fostering continuous improvement and innovation within the organisation.
What you'll be working on
Project Leadership
* Lead and manage multiple delivery projects from initiation to completion
* Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality
* Have the ability to identify projects running off course and make the necessary adjustments (React quickly, ensure stakeholders are aware, get scope reduced, increase resource capacity) to get back on track and deliver as expected
* Foster a collaborative and productive environment within the various project teams.
* Empower project teams to take ownership and accountability of their work and make informed decisions
* Measure and record the effectiveness of the more established delivery teams from Lead Time to Flow Efficiency and report to senior management pain points and plans to reduce inefficiencies
Resource Management
* Expected to engage and negotiate with line and Product Managers to handle resource constraints effectively
* Optimise the use of available resources to achieve project goals
* Ensure the project teams have the necessary tools and resources to succeed
Risk Management
* Identify and mitigate project risks to ensure successful delivery
* Develop contingency plans to address potential issues
* Maintain a proactive approach to problem-solving
What success looks like
* Lead time - Month by month measuring and improvement of project lead times resulting in an overall reduction.
* Project success rate - projects achieve the initial goal/objective that was intended.
* Estimation accuracy - projects are delivered within the estimated timeframe.
* Delivery Artefacts - delivery documentation and process is completed for each project
Experience required
* You will have proven significant & demonstrable experience as a Delivery Manager within Engineering, managing complex multi team projects through the entire lifecycle - from brief to delivery.
* You will have gathered a depth of knowledge and implemented a wide range of agile methodologies/frameworks and understand the benefits of each.
* You will have proven, significant & demonstrable experience in defining business requirements and additional scope for change orders and expansion.
* You'll have managed a team of people before and are able to motivate and achieve goals.
* Familiarity with tools for project management and workflow tracking, such as JIRA, BusinessMap, ClickUp, Trello, and Asana, is essential.

How we work
We believe that teams work better when they have time to collaborate and space to get things done. We call it Zego Hybrid.
Our hybrid way of working is unique. We ask you to spend at least one day a week in our London office. You have the flexibility to choose the day that works best for you and your team. We cover the costs for all company-wide events (3 per year), and also provide a separate hybrid contribution to help pay towards other travel costs.
We think it’s a good mix of collaborative face time and flexible home-working, setting us up to achieve the right balance between work and life.
