Responsibilities
* Follow the departments working procedures and practices
* Repair damaged and worn mould equipment to a high standard using various engineering techniques such as spray welding, polishing, grinding, filing and machining
* Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure the repaired equipment meets the required specification
* Modify mould equipment to maintain quality standards
* Carry out checks on mould equipment using visual and precision measuring techniques to ensure that specifications are complied with
* Record daily work carried out on job sheets to provide an accurate reference point
* Monitor housekeeping in accordance with Company Hygiene Rules
Qualifications
* Experience working in a manufacturing environment
* Good knowledge of bench fitting techniques such as drilling, filing, polishing and grinding
* Have a flexible working approach
* Experience with working with metals, such as Steel, Cast Iron and Nickel
* Be able to read and understand engineering drawings
* Competent with the use of precision measuring equipment – such as micrometres
* Competent with the use of hand tools – such as air tools, files and grinders
* Good communication and problem-solving skills
* Manual machine work (lathes/millers) desirable
* Good attitude towards teamwork and learning
What we offer
* Salary based on Grade 6 of the harmonised pay scales. Salary min £36,341 - £37,806 max.
* Salary sacrifice pension scheme with up to 10% matched contributions
* Extended Day shift - Week 1 Monday/Tuesday/Friday 7am-6pm, Saturday/Sunday 6.30am-4pm. Week 2 Wednesday/Thursday 7am-6pm
