Job Summary Due to growth in our service delivery we are seeking to appoint x 1 part time Youth Worker. As a Youth Worker within our Blend Youth Project Team you will play a key role in developing and delivering youth work provision through our local youth hubs and project locations in Chesterfield, Buxton, High Peak & surrounding areas, so that we effectively engage with disadvantaged & marginalised young people, promoting their wellbeing and leaving a lasting impact on their lives and future prospects. Responsible to: Youth Work Manager Work Base: Various locations throughout Chesterfield, Buxton, High Peak & surrounding areas Hours of work: 20 hours per week (To include regular evening sessions) Salary: £26,500.00 - £28,500.00 pro-rata (Dependent on qualifications & experience) Actual salary: - £13,250.00 - £14,250.00 Job Description PURPOSE & SCOPE “To play a key role in developing and delivering youth work provision through our local youth hubs and project locations in Chesterfield, Buxton, High Peak & surrounding areas, so that we effectively engage with disadvantaged & marginalised young people, promoting their wellbeing and leaving a lasting impact on their lives and future prospects.” DELIVERY • To be involved in the ongoing development and delivery of youth work provision for young people which actively facilitates their participation and is designed to promote their personal and social development. • To work closely with the wider youth work team in the development of creative, inclusive and needs-led programme plans, assuming shared responsibility for maintaining the quality and effectiveness of youth work provision. • To work effectively in a range of youth work delivery contexts across various locations including: open drop-in sessions, project-based delivery, community projects, detached work, 1:1 mentoring, residentials etc. • To function as the ‘Worker-in-Charge’ when required, conducting yourself as a role model in youth work practice, providing practice-based support to other staff/volunteers as required. • To take a shared responsibility for the care, upkeep and management of Blend Youth Project premises, equipment and resources, ensuring that routine practices and procedures are implemented and adhered to. NETWORKING & PARTNERSHIPS • To build and maintain effective relationships with other agencies and professionals in the interests of sharing resources, raising the project’s profile and maximising opportunities to work collaboratively in responding to the needs of young people. • To demonstrate a commitment to fostering positive connections with local communities within which our work is located. • To be consistently prompt & professional in your approach to communication with partner agencies and wider stakeholders.
