About the Role:
- Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
- Location: Newton Abbot
- Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (flexible hours available)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with SEN, helping them access the curriculum.
- Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to each child’s needs.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
- Encourage independence and build confidence in pupils through positive support.
- Help manage classroom behavior, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (desirable).
- A patient, empathetic, and caring attitude.
- Ability to adapt to the changing needs of pupils and provide personalised support.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Certificate) or a willingness to train.
