If so, we want to hear from you! Our client is seeking a dedicated Payroll Officer to join their dynamic payroll department, reporting directly to the Payroll Manager. This role is pivotal in delivering an efficient and effective payroll support service.\n\nJoin Our team as a Payroll Officer!\n\nPermanent \n\nLocation: Birmingham (Hybrid)\n\nRate £25,500\n\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\n\nLiaising with temps and internal/external customers, answering their queries with a friendly approach.\nAccurately inputting data in a timely manner to ensure all deadlines are met.\nCalculating Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) and Maternity Pay (SMP) along with all other statutory payments following set criteria.\nResponding to inquiries from external agencies, such as the Inland Revenue and DSS.\nCalculating additional payments and deductions as necessary.\nAdministering customer payroll information, including timesheets, new starter files, and payroll reports.\nHandling errors and amendments with precision.\nComplying with statutory and company payroll procedures and deadlines.\nMaintaining confidentiality and urgency in all duties.\nUpholding the company values and acting as an ambassador for the payroll team.
\n\nTo succeed in this role, you will need:\n\nExperience with UK payroll legislative requirements, including: \nHMRC submissions\nCMEC deductions\nSSP/SMP & SSP deductions\nCourt Orders and other attachment of earnings\nThe ability to manually process Tax and National Insurance calculations, both for UK and Irish payroll.\nA CIPP or equivalent qualification is essential. \n\nKey Skills:\n\nOutstanding people skills and relationship-building abilities.\nStrong customer service orientation.\nHigh attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nAn intermediate level of Excel proficiency.\nAnalytical skills to interpret data and identify anomalies.Competencies:\n\nA drive to achieve results.\nAbility to work efficiently under pressure.\nEmbracing change with a positive mindset.\nStrong planning and organisational skills.\nA willingness to learn and adapt.\nActive listening and responsive communication. \n\nAdditional Information:\n\nOccasional travel may be required (up to 20%).\n\nIf you are looking for a vibrant and supportive work environment where your skills can shine, apply now!
