Aspire People is currently seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a secondary school in Coleshill. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to support teaching and learning in a dynamic school environment. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of lessons in the absence of regular teachers, helping students to stay engaged and maintain their academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise classes across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in the absence of the regular teacher.
Ensure that students are on task, working productively, and maintaining good behavior throughout the lesson.
Support students with their learning and provide additional help where necessary.
Follow lesson plans and ensure continuity of learning during the teacher's absence.
Maintain a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere, promoting a culture of respect and discipline.
Liaise with teaching staff and school leadership to report on student progress and behavior.
Essential Criteria:
Experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting (though training can be provided).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively and support students in their learning.
Reliable, adaptable, and able to work on your initiative.
A passion for education and a commitment to student welfare and success.
A willingness to undergo a DBS check (if you do not already have one).
Desirable Criteria:
Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role.
A background in education or a related field (such as youth work or tutoring).
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
