Our Mace Consultancy Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences Sector set out to make a difference in the industry. Established in 2013, the team has grown in size and scope with employees based in the UK, Europe and America, with wider coverage throughout the globe.
We provide an end-to-end consultancy service for some of the most notable and innovative life science projects, including manufacturing facilities for several manufacturing market leaders. We leverage the latest innovation, regional expertise and global best practice to continuously improve and advance infrastructure delivery, advising on critical public services and works of cultural importance; driving growth and delivering some of the world's most technically complex and inspiring programmes of work.

4. You will support cost planning including ownership of and presenting cost plans to clients and internal stakeholders.
5. You will support the procurement process, ensuring stages including prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively.
6. You will support the delivery of cost management services to deliver key strategic outcomes and KPIs, directly influencing strategic development of plans.
7. Undertake and deliver project quantity surveying and cost management services to a high standard in support of contract administration, cost reporting, cashflow forecasting, purchase order management.
8. Implement an integrated cost management strategy for the project, leveraging contractor reporting and considering project contracting strategies and team structure.
9. Implement the standard work breakdown structure (WBS) principles from the early inception of the project
10. Be responsible for resolution of escalated issues with the contractor’s
11. Management and assistance with framework contract inc. agreement of annual inflation uplifts, advising on contract strategy, tender preparation and analysis
12. Lead and support the team in the development of the project control plan for projects
13. Prepare accurate cost reports and forecasts per project requirements on a monthly basis, reviewing inputs from the contractor / supplier base.
14. Review cost reports with the project manager and at management levels
15. Develop and maintain reports including cost analysis and forecasts, cashflows, cost variance performance reporting, contingency and management reserve rundown trends.
16. Perform project commercial and financial control functions including contract administration, invoice review, purchase requisition support, asset registration and ensuring project compliance with company policy
17. Develop and maintain project reports including cost financial analysis and forecasts, cash flows, contingency/ management reserve rundown/trends, plus project risk assessments impacting schedule and cost.

You’ll need to have:
24. Previous experience in a cost consultancy practice in a similar role.
25. NEC form of contract experience essential
26. Cost planning, budgeting and estimating experience.
27. Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on contract administration
28. Knowledge of value engineering and life cycle costing.
29. Strong understanding of industry best practice.
