Location & Contract: This is a full-time, permanent role. The role is hybrid working, with travel required to our Reading hub at least twice per month.

The Philanthropy team at Make-A-Wish is in a transformational period as we realise our ambitions to grant thousands more wishes for critically ill children across the UK. You ll be joining Julide Troedson, Philanthropy Programme Director and the rest of the evolving team to help us achieve our vision. Trusts and Foundations are a vital component of our fundraising efforts.
The Trusts and Foundations Manager is a key role within the Philanthropy team, working to maximise income for Make-A-Wish s work through the research, development and management of high-level relationships with trusts and foundations. We are seeking someone with knowledge and experience working with charitable trusts and foundations to help us manage these important relationships. You will be curious, have the ability to nurture existing and prospective funders, and thrive on storytelling and writing that inspires people to support our work. Key Responsibilities
* Manage a portfolio existing and prospective trusts and foundations with an emphasis on new business. Focusing on current £10k to £300k donors and securing multi-year gifts from new, with an ambition to significantly increase income.
* Develop strong relationships with private family trusts and charitable institutions.
* Provide an exceptionally high level of personalised donor care and stewardship to encourage long term support.
* Create compelling funding proposals which clearly articulate Make-A-Wish UK s need, impact and alignment with funders priorities.
* Deliver both written and verbal applications for financial support, providing a high level of stewardship for existing and prospective donors.
* Liaise across Make-A-Wish teams to gather data and project information to curate compelling propositions and outcome focused reports for funding, building on the philanthropic case for support.
Essential Criteria
* 4+ years work in a fundraising environment in a similar role
* Confident communicator with excellent, persuasive bid-writing and story-telling skills
* Experience of working in the non-profit sector, specifically in a developing trust and foundations programme
* Experience of working with senior volunteers in a fundraising role.
* Experience of securing and stewarding grants at £10k-£300k and above
* Understanding of regulatory frameworks, best practice and ethical issues around fundraising
Desirable Criteria
* Experience of managing finance and budgets.
* Experience of managing and planning work.
* Experience using technology to support planning and prioritisation.
* Able to use MS Office.
* Experience using and updating CRM tools, ideally Salesforce.
* Experience producing reports and analytics.
