The Role Scope
Work closely with the buying team to deliver a product offer that exceeds customers’ expectations and achieves sales and profit targets. Contribute towards the creation and implementation of the product strategy. Plan and manage stock levels to optimise stock turn.
Role Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of product budgets, and sales, profit, and stock targets.
* Identify new business opportunities to grow sales and profitability.
* Agree and deliver trading plans to optimize sales and profit.
* Management of product life cycle on a weekly basis. Work with the trading team to launch new products, track vs forecasted performance, identify slow-moving product, and take action to improve performance.
* Develop a markdown strategy to reduce old stock, drive trade, and maximise profit.
* Review and agree on a financial framework within which a balanced, commercial, and profitable range is built.
* Work with the Buyer to ensure the range is balanced across brands and products.
* Demonstrate a customer-focused knowledge of the market and the competition.
* Review sales and stock forecasts regularly to ensure stock levels are managed in line with trade.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
* Coach and develop the team in technical and managerial skills.
About You
Skill/Competency
Essential
* Experience in merchandising within Fashion or footwear.
* Excellent commercial awareness with an interest in product.
* Able to communicate in a way that drives confidence and buy-in to ideas.
* Ability to coach, motivate, and develop a team.
* Resilient, adaptable, and able to multi-task.
* Able to work under pressure and at pace.
* Ideally educated to degree level in a fashion or business subject.
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
