Role: Performance Engineer

My client is one of the leading engine manufacturers, a well-established company in the automobile sector in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive testing of diesel engine performance and emissions parameters, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Analyze test data to identify areas for improvement and optimization, focusing on performance, fuel efficiency, and emissions reduction.
3. Develop and implement calibration strategies to enhance engine performance and emissions characteristics.
4. Investigate and resolve engine failures and defects, using a structured problem-solving approach and industry-standard methodologies.
5. Prepare clear and concise technical reports summarizing test results, analysis findings, and failure investigations.
6. Collaborate effectively with other engineers, technicians, and project teams to ensure successful project execution.
7. Stay abreast of emerging industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements in diesel engine performance and emissions.
Required Skills & Experience:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. Experience in diesel engine performance and emissions calibration.
3. Strong understanding of diesel engine operating principles, performance characteristics, and emissions control technologies.
4. Proven experience in conducting engine test procedures and analyzing test data.
5. Proficiency in using industry-standard test equipment and software tools.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
