Job Description P roduct Performance Engineer Full time Derby /Hybrid What you will be doing An exciting opportunity has arisen for a P roduct Performance Engineer t o join the ET&S team within the Design Engineering Capability function, based in Derby. As P roduct Performance Engineer, you will be involved in the design, simulation and verification of engines/ aircraft at whole system level to predict and verify emergent system attributes which arise from the integration of sub-system components. The role encompasses a wide range of technical activities ranging from development of models from engineering first principles, 1D thermodynamic sim ulation, empirical modelling, detailed 3D CFD assessment, understanding of certification requirements and physical testing. In addition, the role requires integration skills to allow requirements, data and product understanding to be gathered and disseminated across various stakeholders, including internal sub-system and component team s, airframers, regulatory authorities, and customers. Responsibilities You will: Own the definition of the product cycle. Provide prediction and analysis of product attributes at the whole system /platform level. Manage relationships with internal and external customers by g ather ing, manag ing and disseminat ing requirements from/to internal and external customers. Provide data to sub-systems for product design and development, and d efine and manage system s and product interfaces. Provide insight into product/ aircraft interaction and p rovide insight and analysis of real-world operation and customer usage. Why Rolls-Royce? Bachelor's degree or Master's in Engineering or regional equivalent qualification, or equivalent experience. Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and have an understanding of cross-discipline engineering concepts which include but are not limited to manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis, cost engineering and product definition. An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parameters. Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and certification frameworks. Membership of a relevant professional body appropriate to region.
