Job summary A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team at the Alan Squirrel Renal Satellite Unit as we are expanding to have a twilight shift. If you are an experienced Band 5/6 Nurse, who is motivated and enthusiastic, then come and join our friendly team of Nurses and become part of the Kent Kidney Care Centre based at the QEQM. If you are looking to expand your skills and learn how to deliver haemodialysis to both inpatients and outpatients, then this is the role for you. It would be an asset to have Renal experience, but this is not essential as training will be given. Main duties of the job We are looking for an individual who can lead and support the unit manager in the expansion of a twilight dialysis slot at this unit, has a kind and caring attitude towards patients and colleagues and can be a positive team member. Within this role you will be looking after patients who have a chronic condition who attend the unit three times a week We also work closely with the multidisciplinary team, this includes Dieticians, Access team, AKC nurses, Counsellors, Renal Care Navigator, Renal Registrars, Renal Consultants and Transplant nurses By working clinically as a member of the nursing team you will work in partnership with the Matron/Senior Sister to provide clinical, professional and managerial leadership for a specialised unit based team of qualified and non-qualified staff. The post holder will be required to deputize in the absence of the Ward Manager and ensure a positive patient experience through the delivery of high standards of patient care In addition. We are currently introducing an electronic bed management system so will benefit from real-time reporting of up-to-date information for every patient, plus point of care testing.
