A rare term-time only (other than 2 weeks) receptionist role for an Outstanding school.
Your new school
Percy Shurmer Academy is a large two-form entry primary academy with 450 pupils aged from 3 to 11, including 39 children in the Nursery and 22 deaf pupils in our Deaf Learning Base (DLB). The school is led by an ambitious and dedicated Principal, Mrs. Sharon Burke, who has been with the school since 2015. She has established a strong and personable team, and in 2023, the school was graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, who recognized that 'parents are overwhelmingly positive about the quality of education their children receive.' They are now looking for an enthusiastic receptionist to join our team.
Your new role
The school is a vibrant and busy environment with a friendly culture. You will play an integral role by managing our busy reception to ensure everything runs as efficiently as possible. You will be at the heart of the school community and most people's first point of contact. Some of your duties will include answering calls promptly, managing the visitor system and school inbox, and updating pupils' attendance and absences while following safeguarding procedures.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a personable and welcoming individual with experience in a busy reception environment. You will be able to multitask with an eye for detail while prioritizing accordingly. You'll be able to communicate effectively with staff, pupils, and parents and understand the importance of your role in the school.
