The SysOps/ 3rd Line Support Engineer works within our technical team and is responsible for providing support to the Connect business and the Connect suite of products to its customers. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team using your infrastructure and application development skills to provide a high level of support ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all systems. Highlighting any issues to the Head of Operations or escalating to other departments within the business. With an interest in MS SQL Server and application development you will ensure that all systems are secure and all security policies are adhered too. What’s it like to work for us? Escalating any application bugs to the product/ development teams Manage queries/tickets promptly and offer solutions within agreed SLA Troubleshooting internal customer issues Ensuring security policies are adhered to Out of Hours on Call rota on completion of probation Monitoring of systems - alerts/ incident/ problem and capacity management Upgrade customers to the latest releases of our software Maintain software deployment tools and technologies Deployment of latest web application, route to live environment Set up local customer installations Responsible for providing backups to the Support Team to help resolve queries The testing and running of SQL scripts Migration of data into customers databases Managing and integrating internal systems Troubleshoot customer issues via telephone, email and remote sessions Responsible for keeping technical documentation up to date What you’ll need: Experience of investigating and resolving data issues within a Microsoft SQL server environment (T-SQL, Stored Procedures) Experience in an Infrastructure Engineer role Experience in an application development role Experience of Microsoft desktop and MS Windows Server Knowledge of networking and network troubleshooting Knowledge of Linux and Mac OS Experience of MS SQL Server. Backup and Restore. Exposure to scripting in Powershell, Bash or Python Experience of Microsoft SQL development Experience of application development or API integration (JSON) Experience of using bitbucket Experience of working in an agile environment Desirable skills: Exposure to Web Software Deployments Knowledge of AWS Interest in Docker, Azure DevOps Exposure to Terraform Advantageous skills: ITIL Foundation certification Can’t tick all of the above off?
