Support Worker (Supported Living) – Full Time
Hours: 37 hours per week, rota agreed in advance and will ideally include alternate weekends. Early shifts start at 7.30am and late shifts finish at 9.30pm.
Salary: £12.11 to £12.68 per hour, depending on qualification level (£23,307 to £24,394 per annum).
We’re looking for full time Support Workers to join our wonderful team here at The Grange at Bookham supporting adults with learning disabilities.
About The Role: By joining The Grange as a Support Worker, you’ll instantly become part of our dedicated community. Our ethos is person-centred care and support, which you’ll see and feel at every level. We are proud that we do not rely heavily on agency staff, so you’ll get to know your colleagues and the people we support quickly.
As a Support Worker, you’ll need to have natural empathy, great people skills, and a positive approach, ensuring that everyone is treated with dignity and respect, and that we meet their needs and aspirations.
After full induction and training, you’ll act as a key worker to named individuals, supporting them with personal and basic care needs. You will help them make informed choices regarding all aspects of healthy living and wellbeing, including physical activity, social and community opportunities, support with appointments, work/volunteering placements, and occasionally support on trips or holidays. You’ll also provide support with domestic activities such as laundry, shopping, food preparation, and with medication after training.
There’s a huge emphasis on teamwork, and you’ll play an important part in a busy committed team of Support Workers, working in partnership with Senior Support Workers, Team Leaders, and Positive Behaviour Champions to ensure we continue to achieve our high standards of person-centred care and support.
You’ll be supported by a welcoming team and provided with an extensive training programme to help you develop your skills and knowledge. We are happy to support people who wish to develop their careers through studying apprenticeships in Level 2 or 3 Adult Social Care and regularly have promotion opportunities for those who want to become Senior Support Workers or Shift Leads.
We welcome applications from any background; you do not have to have prior experience, as long as you share our values of: Friendly, Open, Respectful, Caring, and Enabling.
We know the care industry can be tough, but The Grange brings joy to not only the people we support but also to the staff team and wider community.
