Autism West Midlands is a leading charity in the West Midlands for people on the autism spectrum.
We use our expertise to enrich the lives of autistic people and those who love and care for them. Our passionate, expert staff and volunteers work across all age groups and abilities, by providing personalised support.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Manager to support the registered manager at our purpose-built Supported Living service in Droitwich, Worcestershire. We are looking for someone who has the genuine passion and motivation to make a difference.
Where will I be working?
The Burrows is Autism West Midlands' newest supported living service opening in 2019. The Burrows supports 8 autistic males to live independently within their own self-contained apartments with access to communal spaces. The people we support enjoy meaningful activities and accessing the community. The Burrows benefits from individual garden access from each self-contained flat, an activity room where the people we support can take part in activities such as indoor archery, crafting activities, and even parties. The Burrows also has a sensory room and a quiet room where people we support can relax. This is a vibrant, busy service for young people who are physically able, active, and like to be outdoors.
As a Deputy Manager, you will be supported by a Registered Care Manager and 2 Senior Support Workers. You will be managing a team of up to 40 staff.
Work days include 3 days office-based and 2 shifts directly supporting each week.
The shifts are 7.00am – 2.30pm and 2.15pm – 9.45pm. All staff work a mixture of early and late shifts as well as alternate weekends.

* An understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks of registered care services and person-centred practice.
