A well-established and patient-focused medical practice in Bridlington is seeking an experienced and dedicated Pharmacist to join their dynamic healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Medication Management:
Review and dispense medications according to prescriptions and patient needs.
Monitor patient medication use to ensure efficacy and safety.
Provide advice on the correct use of medications and potential side effects.
2. Clinical Collaboration:
Work with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust treatment plans.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute to patient care decisions.
3. Patient Consultation:
Offer direct consultations to patients regarding their medications, including dosage, administration, and potential interactions.
Educate patients about managing chronic conditions through medication.
4. Medication Safety:
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards in medication management.
Conduct medication reviews and audits to identify and resolve any issues.
5. Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing and patient interactions.
Prepare and manage medication inventories and supplies.
6. Professional Development:
Stay current with advancements in pharmaceutical sciences and best practices.
Engage in continuous professional development and training.
Qualifications:
1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent.
2. Registration: Must be a registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or equivalent.
3. Experience: Previous experience in a GP practice or similar healthcare setting is preferred but not essential.
4. Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
