The vacancy
Are you passionate about user-centred design and ready to make a significant impact on user experience at Bromford? We are seeking a dynamic User Experience Lead to spearhead our UX efforts on a fixed-term contract for up to 12 months, ensuring our diverse users achieve their goals quickly and efficiently across various platforms.
As the User Experience Lead, you will embody a user-centred design (UCD) approach to develop simple yet effective user journeys. Acting as the voice of our users, you will lead the development of end-to-end service journeys, capturing user interactions from touchpoints to channels. You'll identify steps to enhance these journeys through user research, feedback, and collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs) from across the business.
In addition to your UX responsibilities, you will play a crucial role in stakeholder management, ensuring their expectations are understood and met. By liaising with stakeholders, you will build journeys and plans that evolve their needs into tangible solutions. Your ability to manage and align stakeholder expectations will be key to the successful implementation of user-centred designs. You will collaborate with stakeholders to incorporate their insights and feedback, ensuring that the final designs not only meet user needs but also align with business goals.
You will plan and lead generative and evaluative research to uncover new insights and validate concepts, producing actionable insights that can be adopted by business, product, and design teams. Additionally, you will mentor a user experience apprentice, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Ideally, you have experience working with transactional processes such as payments and requests, as well as lead generation and marketing journeys like sign-ups for more information. Your working knowledge of design standards will be crucial, and you should thrive on technical detail while embracing innovation with a readiness to fail fast and learn quickly. Logical and methodical thinking to address business challenges with user-centric solutions will be essential.
Excellent written communication skills are a must, particularly for creating prototype designs and supporting documentation. Your persuasive communication and storytelling abilities will help engage colleagues and stakeholders in the UX journey, while a positive attitude and collaborative approach will be vital in managing conflicting views and opinions. A solid understanding of WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines and their impact on user experience is also required.
