Our client is a start-up gigabit fast full fibre broadband company currently going through an exciting period of growth. They are seeking an experienced Network Technology Solutions Director to join their business.
As a complete business support partner service, and working with other functions across the business, the Network Technology Solutions Director shall lead a team of subject matter experts in delivering innovation, design, development and costing of Network Technology solutions through their whole lifecycle, and for Network Technology solution design during a whole project's/initiative's lifecycle.
This includes delivering business solution options, estimates (Rough Order of Magnitude), detailed design proposals and estimates, High Level Design (HLD) production, Low Level Design (LLD) assurance and sign off, anticipated project Network Technology solution implementation timelines, and participating in key Network Technology architecture initiatives. The Network Technology team will be a combination of direct reports, and potentially as projects and business needs grow contracting team members.
Responsibilities:
1. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology and Information Officer, lead and develop a high performing Network Technology Solutions team through clear vision, coaching and support.
2. Play a key part in the delivery of large, complex strategic programmes that cut across different business areas and brands.
3. Be responsible for the Network Technology Solutions team, which will be accountable for defining and presenting technical recommendations for specific business objectives and key requirements.
4. Ensure Network Technology Solutions meet functional objectives and operational requirements such as scalability, security, extensibility, flexibility, and manageability.
5. Ensure the Network Technology Solutions team gains and maintains knowledge of business needs, strategic goals, objectives, and functional areas.
6. Work collaboratively with the Project Management Office (PMO), OSS/BSS/UX, and IT teams in the preparation of solution pricing, documentation, and solution design.
7. Estimate and coordinate the consolidation of Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) costs, deliverables, and scope for Network Technology solutions.
8. Document ROM costs, deliverables, scope, assumptions, risks, and issues using PMO standard documentation and processes.
9. Ensure the Network Technology Solutions team is cognizant that its solutions always meet business stability, network data integrity, infrastructure stability, network security, and maintainability.
10. Identify innovative technology solutions that meet business needs and remove obstacles for the business.

Skills & Qualifications:
1. Proven track record in designing and monitoring varied network technologies.
2. Line management and people management experience.
3. Strong experience in managing teams to design and deliver large and small scale change programmes.
4. Proven track record of proposing and estimating network technology solutions.
5. Understanding business objectives and translating them into solutions.
6. Coordinating multiple streams of work.
7. Strong stakeholder management experience.
8. Risk management exposure.
9. Proven track record of cost estimation experience.
10. Degree level qualified in Telecommunications, Optical Networking, or similar.
11. Industry qualifications or equivalent professional training.
12. Seasoned telecommunications industry and/or enterprise architecture background.
