Marketing and Communications Team

Part-time: 21 hours per week (0.6 FTE)
Fixed term: Until January 2026 (11 months)
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Marketing and Communications Officer to join our Marketing Team in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Edinburgh.
As a member of the College Marketing Team, you will contribute to College-level marketing activities, particularly conversion campaigns aimed at applicants and offer holders.
More than ever, prospective students are seeking information and engagement from universities when they apply and when considering which offer to accept. Our College marketing team are crafting compelling campaigns to attract and recruit students into our undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. Nurturing these applications are the cornerstone of inbound marketing and crucial to the success of the College.
This is an opportunity to join a professional marketing team responsible for conversion communication and marketing activities for the University’s largest College. The College handles over 120,000 undergraduate and postgraduate applications and admits circa 10,000 students across the 11 Schools, Centre for Open Learning and Edinburgh Futures Institute at all levels and modes of study.
Through supporting key activities, you will gain insight into marketing and recruitment across the prospective student journey, as well as experience different ways of working.
There may also be opportunity to lead on small scale projects such as content creation.

This post is part-time (21 hours per week) and you will be expected to work on-campus for at least 40% of your working week. We are open to considering flexible working patterns.
The salary for this post is £33,882 to £39,105 per annum (pro-rata).

* Quick to learn, you have a versatile writing style and are able to produce impactful and engaging content for a variety of audiences. You know how to reach the right audiences with the right messaging for maximum effect.
* You're a people person! You'll be great at this role if you enjoy building relationships with colleagues and are proactive in coordinating efforts across departments to pursue campaign opportunities.
* Marketing can involve a lot of trial and error, so you're comfortable embracing new trends and trying fun ideas to engage and delight potential students.
* An ability to work in a team as well as independently, with organisational and project management skills.
* Results-driven, you've got a bit of analysis experience up your sleeve to measure and improve your work.
* Cultural sensitivity and awareness of our diverse society.

Our services and areas of expertise include public relations and press office services, media training, prospectus and promotional material production, advertising, media selection, events, video production, web publishing, corporate merchandising and information/exhibition provision via our visitor centre.
