The CIB Central Controls Office (CCO) is responsible for the oversight and governance of the Commercial and Investment Bank (CIB) control environment, including the development and delivery of an enterprise-wide framework to manage control-related processes driven by Regulation and/or Compliance requirements.
Within CCO, the Compliance and Operational Risk Framework Team - Governance & Controls is responsible for many oversight activities including: Office of Legal Obligations (OLO) Quality Assurance, Office of Document Governance Adherence Assessments, and Policy & Standard Framework Oversight. The team works with a wide group of stakeholders, within and outside of the CIB, to implement controls related to change initiatives.
The Office of Legal Obligations (OLO) program is a firm-wide, global initiative that brings together the expertise of Legal, Lines of Business (LOBs), Control Management, Compliance, Risk, and other key control functions, to proactively manage regulatory changes in our operations and allow us to trace end-to-end connections between laws, rules, and regulations on the one hand, and our policies and procedures that demonstrate compliance on the other.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will work within the CIB Compliance and Operational Risk Framework Governance & Controls team and perform OLO Quality Assurance testing in line with the Firm's OLO Corporate Standards, documenting and communicating their findings. They will undertake reporting activities aligned to the OLO Operating Standards and, when required, represent CIB at the Firmwide OLO QA Working Group. The individual will also support the wider team, when required, in respect of Document Governance and Consumer Outcomes related activities.
Role Responsibilities:
* Perform Quality Assurance testing on a quarterly basis in line with Corporate QA Testing Standards for OLO programs.
* Provide support and guidance to CIB's Sub LOBs on QA related matters/queries.
* Partner with the CIB Sub-LOBs to agree on final outcomes for issues identified in the testing and track all remediation actions through to completion.
* Support and help oversee CIB Quality Assurance testers residing within Central Control Services
o Assisting with the training of new testers.
o Validating errors identified.
* Serve as a point of contact and escalation with Firmwide OLO QA, helping to shape firmwide approach and cascade changes within CIB.
* Support QA reporting for communication to Senior Management and Sub-LOBs (e.g., Business Control Committees, Business Control Forums, etc.). Escalate risks & issues.
* Perform Deep Dive reviews on issues identified in testing to determine the extent of remediation required.
* Support the development of the Machine Learning approach to support & streamline QA testing efforts.
* Support UAT efforts for new enhancements within the OLO tooling.
* Support the wider team, when required, in respect of Document Governance and Consumer Outcomes related activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Proven experience in controls, compliance, audit, or a relevant governance role, including experience with regulatory or controls initiatives.
* Knowledge of the CIB businesses - ability to understand the businesses and sub-LOBs plus basic knowledge of regulation surrounding the business.
* Critical thinking and analytical skills - ability to understand and interpret legal documents and operational procedures.
* Organization - attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple demands and shifting priorities. Can think and act in pressured and time-sensitive situations and knows when to escalate matters for appropriate resolution.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present work accurately and professionally both verbally and in writing.
* Team player who works well with colleagues of all levels in achieving results and is willing to take personal accountability.
* Comfortable working independently in a dynamic and change-based environment.
* Confidence and fluency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
* Tools / Technology - comfortable in utilizing and navigating different systems and applications.
