As an apprentice at Alston Moor Federation, you will support teaching and learning throughout the school, maximising achievement and development in KS1 and KS2. With an apprenticeship you get the classroom based experience and gain a recognised qualification.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (set hours to be discussed upon placement)
Salary: £6.40 per hour, National Minimum Wage for Apprentices
Upon completion of the apprenticeship, subject to performance, you may be considered for a future position!
Duties and Responsibilities of the role
Support for Pupils, Teachers and the Curriculum
1. Work collaboratively with teachers and other professional agencies to provide effective support for learning activities.
2. Awareness of and work within school policies and procedures.
3. To work with children and young people who have additional needs.
4. To provide support under the direction and supervision of teaching staff to assist pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in school activities.
5. Support pupils to understand instructions, support independent learning and inclusion of all pupils.
6. Implement and contribute to planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to pupils' responses as appropriate.
7. Participate in planning and evaluation of learning activities with the teacher, providing feedback to the teacher on pupil progress.
8. Support the teacher in behaviour management and keeping pupils on task based on the expectations for individual pupils.
9. Support the teacher in monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress/activities.
10. Provide feedback to pupils in relation to attainment and progress under the guidance of the teacher.
11. Support the use of ICT in the curriculum.
12. Support children's learning through play and planned learning activities.
13. Support learning by arranging/providing resources for lessons/activities under the direction of the teacher and in line with health and safety requirements.

Qualifications
Essential requirement of a GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.
