The Opportunity: We are excited to be recruiting for a Site Operations Manager to join our manufacturing site in Thirsk, North Yorkshire on a permanent basis. The Company: IPN is an innovative, well-established, and award-winning pet food manufacturer, now employing over 400 people across our 3 UK sites. Our family of brands include Harringtons, Wagg, Barking Heads & Meowing Heads, AATU and a selection of partner brands that trust us to produce food on their behalf. Our kitchens in Thirsk and Kinmel produce dry, wet, and baked foods which are enjoyed by dogs and cats all over the world. The Role: To direct the operations function for a Manufacturing Unit (People, Process and Product) that delivers the required KPI's across all shifts to enable the delivery of local operational objectives which exceed customer expectations Scope: Responsible for manufacturing plus adjacent/complimentary functions Headcount (including average agency): 50 - 500 Turnover: £15m - £180m Key Accountabilities: Deliver & deploy IPN business strategy through engaging teams and peers to achieve the goals. Managing against EHS plan/performance across the operation in order to enhance colleagues health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace. Compliance against site QMS and working alongside the quality function to improve quality standards to support our most loved brands. Contribute to the business EBITDA growth by controlling manufacturing spend and delivering efficiency projects. Deliver the site production plan in line with customer expectations. Provide inspirational leadership and direction to the operational community to ensure that people are kept safe engaged, focused and delivering to their potential. Skills, Experience and Qualifications A good standard of educational achievement, either through full time further education or gained as a work-based apprentice Previous experience of leading manufacturing teams in an FMCG environment Previous experience of working with customers and being accountability for customer service Strong analytical skills Capability to plan and implement initiatives in a complex organisation Sound knowledge of modern manufacturing methodologies and systems planning Experience in leading business improvement activities Level 3 Health and Safety - IOSH Level 3 Food Safety Our Offer: Location: Thirsk Salary: Competitive plus 15% bonus Hours: 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday Pension: Employee contributions 3% / Employer contribution 8% Holidays: 25 days Bank Holidays Other Benefits: Free parking, tasty treats, free electric car charging, discounted products & free hot drinks.
