Your new company
We are looking to recruit personable, flexible, and motivated senior domestic violence support workers to support our qualified staff with the delivery of care to our users. You will be involved in the care and meeting the psychological needs of a diverse group of service users with varying degrees of mental issues. You will be caring and attentive with the skills to build strong and trusting relationships with people. It is also important that you work well in a team as you will work alongside staff from other professions, as well as leading a team of IDVAs and reporting to management.
Your new role
Working closely with the users to manage their needs on a caseload basis. This will involve liaising with other agencies to help the people who are being referred to the service who need emotional support and guidance to achieve a positive outcome. You will also be responsible for leading a team of IDVAs, managing referrals and being the link person between management and IDVAs. This is a fast-paced role, where you will be completing admin duties, going out into the community to meet with new referrals and your caseload, as well as working with other charities. Typical shifts will be 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday. You will be working with individuals who are victims of domestic and sexual abuse.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need previous experience of working with victims of domestic & sexual abuse or display suitable transferable skills that will enable you to give the people you support the best standard of care and support. You will need to have good knowledge of legislation and domestic abuse support strategies to provide the best level of support. Desirable criteria would be experience in leading a team within a domestic abuse service previously along with an IDVA or QCF qualification. Driving is essential for this position.
