As the Workshop Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the workshop operates efficiently and effectively.
Are you the right person for the job?
* Previous experience in a similar Workshop Controller role
* A deep understanding of vehicle servicing and repair processes
* Strong background in people management within an automotive workshop
* Fluent in English with excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel; familiarity with Pinewood or 1Link is a plus
* GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
* Ability to plan, prioritise, and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
* Ensuring high standards of workmanship and accuracy in reporting
* Ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and customers
What will your role look like?
* Overseeing and allocating work to Service Technicians, ensuring adherence to manufacturer guidelines and quality standards
* Proactively planning workshop capacity to maximize productivity and reduce downtime
* Providing technical support and guidance to staff and customers, maintaining a high standard of technical expertise
* Ensuring all repairs and services meet customer expectations and comply with safety and quality standards
* Monitoring training needs, conducting quality checks, and driving continuous improvement within the team
* Supporting the service administration team to deliver exceptional customer experiences
* Accurately interpret job cards/repair orders and ensure compliance with quality procedures
* Manage workshop tools and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration
* Communicate effectively with the Parts Department, customers, and Technical Service Advisors to resolve delays or additional requirements
* Keep the workshop clean, safe, and organised while maintaining company property
* Achieve company and personal targets while adhering to health and safety regulations
