Recruitment Officer
Location: Uttoxeter – Elkes Biscuits
Shift: Monday to Friday – 08:30 to 17:00 (On Site)
Salary: Up to £35,000 DOE
About Us:
Elkes Biscuits are currently recruiting for a driven, organised, and adaptable Recruiter to support our teams at our busy manufacturing site in Uttoxeter. Elkes Biscuits has real heritage in both the local area and within the industry. In the early 1900s Samuel Elkes opened a confectionery shop in Uttoxeter and in 1928 a purpose-built biscuit factory was opened on the current site. We produce own label biscuits to all the major retailers including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Marks and Spencer, Sainsbury’s, Aldi, and Lidl in addition to the Elkes brand. We have had a significant investment into our site and operations, have secured new orders and are positioned to make 2024 our best year ever.
About the Role:
Reporting into the HR Manager, the Recruiter will be responsible for recruitment for weekly paid colleagues as we continue to grow the business. This will be a fast paced and rewarding position. As Elkes continues to grow so will our teams, therefore we are seeking a driven and adaptable recruitment professional that can support this development, by working at pace whilst ensuring the best recruitment experience possible for candidates.
Duties of the Recruitment Officer role will include:
* Regular communication with operations and planning teams regarding labour requirements.
* Advert generation both internally and externally utilizing available (free) job boards, social media platforms and other tools.
* Managing the recruitment authorization process and recruitment for all weekly paid roles.
* Organisation of open day events.
* Attend regular job fairs and other events within the community promoting Elkes and our vacancies.
* Building relationships with government funded partners that can provide recruitment support.
* Creating and implementing new ideas to improve candidate attraction and retention.
* Supporting the HR team as required in all recruitment from both a practical and administrative perspective.
* Track recruitment and retention data to identify trends and develop improvements.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will ideally come from a recruitment background with demonstrable evidence of successful placements and supporting business growth. The role will require a strong factory floor presence and the willingness to understand the operation first hand. Ideally you will be able to demonstrate:
* Previous experience of high-volume recruitment
* Working knowledge of recruitment practises and standards
* Understanding of advertising methods – job boards/social media/events
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Knowledge of UK labour laws and right to work regulations.
* Strong organisational skills and IT knowledge
* Drive, determination, resilience, and the ability to work at pace.
