About us St Giles Hospice is a registered charity founded in 1983 by the Reverend Paul Brothwell, originally to improve the care of local people dyingwith cancer. We now support people in our community whose illnesses may not be curable such as cancer, motor neurone disease, heart failure, MS and respiratory disease. We also offer support for families and helpers. Our dedicated team provides individually-tailored care either at the hospice or in patients own homes across our communities. The range of specialist services is provided free of charge to those who need it. Although St Giles receives some funding from the Government, we rely heavily on donations and fundraising. To identify and act on any risk that could affect the safety of patients especially where consumables are identified as a risk factor. Ensure full servicing of all clinical equipment is completed in a timely manner and logged appropriately. Work collaboratively with the inpatient unit to ensure all faulty equipment is reported appropriately. Management of clinical administration volunteers. Acting as first point of contact and support for Clinical Administration, Reception and Ward Clerk queries arising on a day-to-day basis. Provide day to day support and perform Individual Performance Reviews for the Clinical Administrators and Ward Clerk. Manage the stationary procurement for clinical and medical departments. Adhere to all Hospice policies and procedures. Ensure the clinical equipment asset log is kept up to date. Developing and maintaining effective communication and working relationships with external agencies, external contractors/suppliers and other St Giles Hospice services. Administration of electronic patient record systems identifying improvements to systems and processes within the team and ensuring they are implemented and embedded. Management of annual leave for the clinical administration team. Supporting the clinical governance structure to ensure standards are maintained. To undertake any reasonable requests by the Director or Deputy Director of Clinical Services to support the operational needs of the business. Review and monitoring of annual leave through the HR system for the inpatient unit.
