We are working closely with a mainstream secondary school, seeking a learning support mentor to join them in a full-time position this September.
You will be required to support pupils 1:1 and in small groups (up to 3 students) across a range of departments and learning abilities. In this position, you will provide support, motivation, and guidance to help overcome obstacles in their learning. Some students will struggle academically, and your role is to help positively engage them back into learning.
The successful candidate will be required to support pupils who may have learning difficulties, mental health problems, lack of confidence, or family issues. In the role, you will help students develop coping strategies and raise their aspirations, encouraging them to re-engage in learning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Organise activities
2. Actively listen to pupils’ concerns
3. Discuss ways and perform plans to address issues the student is facing
4. Liaise with teachers and parents/carers on student progression or struggles
5. Provide constant support and advice tailored to each student
Previous experience in a similar school-based position is essential to be considered for this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
