Familiarity with the construction planning (programming) process and the ability to interpret a programme and measure progress on site against this. Main Responsibilities of an MEP Manager Review the issued design information for completeness and clarity. Raise RFIs where required to ensure that the MEP sub-contractors are provided with timely and accurate information to allow installation to progress in line with the agreed programme. Review tender packages in conjunction with the appropriate project QS to ensure that there are no scope gaps and that tenderers have correctly interpreted the drawings and specifications and made the correct allowances. Review schedules of rates and plant and material costs in conjunction with the QS team. Arrange and chair regular sub-contractor progress meetings for each of the five sub-projects comprising the overall project. Prepare and circulate notes with clearly identified and timebound action points. Arrange and chair regular design review meetings for each of the five sub-projects. These should include relevant members of the professional team, principally the MEP designers, BCA, as well as the RWA project manager. Prepare and circulate notes and timebound action points. Work closely with the project and site management team for each area to develop short-term look-ahead programmes and identify areas where there is risk of slippage. Work with the MEP sub-contractors to develop and implement effective mitigation measures to make sure programme is maintained. Assist the QS team with the assessment of progress on site to enable them to develop accurate monthly valuations of the MEP elements. Liaise with the RWA Quality Manager and cooperate to meet the general requirements of the project quality plan. Check the installation against the current construction issue drawings. Ensure that only the current revision of drawings are being used by installation teams on site.
