JOB DESCRIPTION – FLEET MANAGER
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Management:
Procure, lease, or purchase vehicles based on company needs and budget.
Manage vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring vehicles are in good working order and compliant with regulations.
Monitor vehicle performance and identify areas for improvement.
Manage vehicle insurance, registration, and licensing.
Undertaking audit checks of the Company’s plant and tool assets
Track and analyse fleet costs, including fuel, maintenance, and repairs.
Carry out regular inspections of the fleet and record vehicle condition.
Monitor vehicle cleanliness and routine inspections by driver.
Driver Management:
Train and manage drivers, ensuring they are qualified and compliant with company policies and regulations.
Develop and implement driver safety programs.
Monitor driver performance and address any issues.
Manage driver schedules and routes.
Compliance:
Ensure the fleet complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including safety, environmental, and transportation regulations.
Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, inspections, and driver qualifications.
Cost Optimisation:
Identify and implement cost-saving measures, such as fuel efficiency programs, maintenance optimization, and route optimization.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors.
Manage the fleet budget.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare reports on fleet performance, costs, and compliance.
Analyse fleet data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Other Duties:
There will be a requirement to carry out occasional chauffeur duties for the business owner and senior directors.
The fleet includes a number of prestige vehicles and full training will be offered to the successful candidate
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience within a similar transport/fleet role with supervisor or leadership experience.
Strong proven leadership skills.
Exceptional IT skills including Microsoft packages (Excel) and experience of Verizon telematics.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Valid, clean, UK driving license.
The successful candidate must be well presented at all times and treat colleagues with respect.
