You will be responsible for delivering engaging and stimulating Food Technology lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11). Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Delivery: Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and stimulating Food Technology lessons, fostering a love of food and cooking in students. Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students develop their culinary skills effectively (hygiene, food preparation techniques, recipe interpretation, healthy eating principles). Promote creativity and experimentation in the kitchen, encouraging students to explore different cuisines and ingredients. Effectively prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations (if applicable). Safe Learning Environment: Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Ensure the kitchen is well-equipped and organized for effective learning. Student Progress: Track and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to ensure students achieve their academic goals. Utilize a variety of assessment strategies to inform teaching and learning. Enrichment Activities: Contribute to and potentially lead enrichment activities related to Food Technology (e.g., cooking clubs, food market visits, healthy eating workshops). Foster a love of learning and encourage students to explore their culinary interests beyond the curriculum. The Ideal Candidate: A qualified Food Technology Teacher with a minimum of 2 years' successful teaching experience. A strong passion for food and cooking and a demonstrable track record of raising student achievement. Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to keep up-to-date with current food trends and healthy eating practices. Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver engaging and interactive lessons. A commitment to high standards and creating a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment in the kitchen. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
