Jade School is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant who will support learning opportunities for our pupils. The candidate will have substantial SEND experience. It is not essential that you have worked in a hospital setting before as full training will be provided and we welcome applications from colleagues who are passionate about providing a high standard of education for students with special educational needs and disabilities. As a growing Academy Trust, we are committed to developing our workforce and encourage all members of staff to participate in a range of professional development opportunities. The successful applicant will be expected to undergo core training, deputise in the absence of the class teacher, attend CPD sessions on a Wednesday at Oak Wood Secondary School and INSET days.

This Teaching Assistant Level 3 vacancy is at Jade School. Jade School, at Brooklands Hospital, offers a comprehensive educational experience tailored to the needs of young people during their hospital stay. The curriculum is designed to support academic, social, emotional, and mental health development, using trauma-informed and empathetic approaches. The School is staffed by qualified teaching staff, with support from Health Care Assistants. Facilities include classrooms, a sensory room, and outdoor teaching spaces. The curriculum covers a wide range of subjects and is delivered through engaging, flexible, and personalised learning plans. Assessment is ongoing, with regular reviews to set appropriate targets. The school also emphasises vocational learning and parental/carer engagement, ensuring a holistic and supportive educational environment.
