Hybrid Working
Our team provides Internal Audit services to members of the Eastern Internal Audit Services (EIAS) Consortium. We are entering an exciting period of development across the function as we explore the use of technology, in particular AI and further use of data analytics to drive our audits and add value to our clients.
We have an opportunity for a curious individual with an enquiring mind to join us in a role that will provide the opportunity to develop sound internal audit knowledge and experience, as well as to get involved in exploring these new technologies.
You will support the function in providing Consortium clients with independent assurance on the effectiveness of their risk management, governance and internal control processes. This will be achieved through completing varied audits and grant certifications whilst working with and being coached by the Senior Internal Auditor and the Head of Internal Audit.
You will be undertaking audits, following up on the recommendations made and providing support to the Senior Internal Auditor in completing reports and monitoring activities of the external contractors. The role will involve extensive liaison with external contractors and officers of each client when completing audits, follow up work and when undertaking monitoring activities.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally possess the Level 4 Certificate in Internal Audit and Business Risk or equivalent qualification and will be able to demonstrate an organised approach in order to meet specified timeframes and deadlines. As the role has unrestricted access to the data, records and other information necessary to fulfil our Internal Audit Mandate, confidentiality, discretion and secure the storage of information is absolutely essential. This role would suit somebody wishing to develop or further a career in internal audit, who is able to actively listen, communicate confidently and who can apply a healthy degree of critical thinking and scepticism in their work.
If you haven't yet completed the Level 4 but are keen to do so whilst taking on a Trainee role, we would be keen to hear from you.
Why Work with Us?
You will be joining a fantastic, progressive organisation with benefits that include flexible working hours for most office-based roles, free onsite car parking, employee discounts, a competitive holiday allowance, wellbeing initiatives and the opportunity to sign up to the contributory Local Government Pension Scheme.
