We have an initially temporary role available within TATA Steel's Shotton works.
This role is ideal for someone with production line experience, overhead cranes and FLT experience and considers themselves to be punctual, reliable as well as proactive.
Role: Production Operator
Location: TATA Steel, Shotton Works, Shotton Records Centre, Deeside CH5 2NH
Rate: £24847 per annum, £12.74ph
Overtime available as well as bonus incentive based on attendance and performance.
Contract length: 12 months initially
Shift Patterns: Alternating shift pattern, 37.5 hours per week. Week 1: 06:00-14:00 Mon-Fri, Week 2: 14:00-00:00 Mon to Thu.
Start: ASAP but pending completion of medical assessment which includes a drug and alcohol test.
Responsibilities:
* Operating processing machine and material handling equipment.
* Facilitating prompt and accurate material selection and processing.
* Understanding the relevant product ranges on offer.
* Implementing maintenance activities to drive productivity.
* Checking stock records, labelling and storage according to company policy.
* Being actively involved in improvement initiatives, own personal development and contributing to the team's performance.
* Adhering to the plants procedures and PPE instructions at all times.
* Undertake safe operation of equipment and machines within the Engineering Shop, including basic maintenance.
* Adhering to UK Health and Safety legislation at all times.
Essential requirements:
* Driving licence and access to own vehicle.
* Previous experience as a production operative or working on a process line in a heavy industrial environment.
* FLT driving experience.
* Experience operating overhead cranes.
* Previous experience within a heavy industrial fabrication environment (advantage).
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to adhere to both of the shift patterns.
* Flexibility towards overtime.
* Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation.
* Considers themselves to be proactive, self-motivated and a team player.
