We are looking for a talented individual who is passionate about delivering the very best experience to young people. We are looking to appoint a Student Support Officer to join our successful team to help support and assist with managing student behaviour and encouraging attendance amongst our learners on a fixed term contract till July 2025.
This role is also term time only, 39 weeks. Please note your salary is calculated based on the number of term-time weeks and the hours worked. The advertised salary reflects the full academic year.
Key Responsibilities
As a Student Support Officer, you’ll play a vital role in fostering a safe and respectful atmosphere by maintaining a visible presence across the College. You’ll actively engage with students, encouraging positive behaviour and addressing any concerns to ensure a welcoming and productive space for learning. Beyond behaviour management, you’ll provide one-to-one support to students, helping them stay motivated and take responsibility for their attendance and conduct. You’ll also work closely with attendance officers, monitoring student engagement and offering guidance where needed. Keeping clear and accurate records of interventions will be essential, ensuring students receive the right support when they need it.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
We’re looking for a dedicated and proactive individual with recent experience in a similar role. This role is all about engagement, working closely with students to create a safe and positive learning environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, along with a passion for supporting students to reach their full potential. You’ll need to be self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to a learner-focused approach, always looking for ways to collaborate and grow through training. The ability to handle situations professionally and produce accurate reports is also key.
