As Aircraft Technician (Cabin), you will be responsible for accomplishing delegated cabin maintenance tasks on VAA or contracted customers aircraft to the required Airworthiness standards. The primary objective is to ensure the continued safe operation of the aircraft by achieving, and striving to exceed, the standards of airworthiness set by Corporate and Airworthiness Authority policy, procedures and requirements.
Day to day
You will carry out hands-on maintenance of aircraft cabins and related systems and components.
Technicians must adhere to manufacturers approved maintenance procedures and the instruction of the designated supervising Engineer.
A Technician will also be expected to work on delegated tasks without supervision using their own initiative.
You will apply sound engineering practices to your duties and fully communicate actions, ensuring an excellent standard of maintenance in order to adhere to appropriate standards and reduce the risk of financial penalties and damage to reputation.
You'll participate in appraisals - both team and individual.
Drive effective control of costs as applicable to job role, helping to optimise revenue and manage cost.
Drive compliance with Engineering safety.
About you
We seek people with the following skills and experience:
* Excellent communication skills
* Demonstrable adaptation to changes in working practices and environment
* Good working knowledge of efficient working practices/techniques and able to drive changes to working practices
* Be knowledgeable of and compliant with current Health and Safety Procedures.
* Possess a working knowledge of company procedures.
* Working knowledge of relevant company IT systems.
* Have experience and technical knowledge of the Virgin fleet sufficient to determine the airworthiness of any component or system.
* Have successfully completed a recognised aeronautical apprenticeship or equivalent, relevant experience.
* Possess a sound aircraft engineering background, with relevant experience, demonstrating clear and effective hand skills and thinking.
* Hold EASA/CAA Licence qualifications coupled with the associated certification responsibilities, as required.
